Voice for the Community
WHO IS JESSICA DOMINGUEZ?
Jessica Domínguez is recognized in the community as a woman of faith and internationally as an immigration attorney for defending the rights of immigrants.
She is a well respected comentator on radio, television and press for her efforts to maintain the immigrant community informed about its rights on her radio program “Preguntale a la Abogada” on Univision Radio’s 101.9 FM, her youtube channel
JessicaDominguezTV and her segment “Angel de la Justicia” on Despierta America.
Jessica Domínguez immigrated to the U.S. at 14 years of age with the dream of one day becoming an attorney. Before achieving her goal she found herself encountering the same obstacles that she sees her clients face every day upon living in the U.S. without an immigration status.
Jessica Dominguez dedicated the first few years of her life to raising her children from home. Fifteen years after when her children were self-sufficient, she made the decision to enroll in a local community college and she took the first steps towards her goal of becoming an attorney.
Two years later she earned a partial scholarship to attend the University of Pepperdine where she received her bachelor’s degree. She went on to attend the University of La Verne College of Law where she received a Juris Doctor Degree with honors.
She earned the title “Angel of Justice” after Agustin Duran, a journalist at La Opinión, bestowed it upon her after she helped a woman be released from detention after she had served a sentence of 20 years for a crime she did not commit.
The community has now adopted this name as a term of endearment for attorney Jessica Dominguez and the title is now used to name her segment “Angel de la Justicia” on Univision’s Despierta América.
Attorney Jessica Dominguez has represented families who have inspired faith and perseverence not only for immigrants in the U.S., but for families all over the world.
When she isn’t defending the rights of families, or educating her community about their rights, she makes it a priority to enjoy her family. Javier, her husband of 28 years, and her two sons, JP and Josh are very supportive of all her dreams and efforts. She loves reading, walking, dancing, and smelling the roses. She is often invited to speak at women’s conferences to inspire and motivate other women to reach their potential.
